Aldenmoor has maintained a Chair in Classical Languages since its founding year, and the DPhil in Classical Studies remains among the most demanding and most distinguished research degrees in the humanities. Students work in close collaboration with their supervisors, typically meeting weekly for intensive discussion of their developing thesis chapters.
The Harwick Collection — comprising over 4,000 Greek and Roman artefacts, papyri, and numismatic holdings — is available to all doctoral candidates as a primary research resource. The Faculty maintains active partnerships with the British School at Athens, the British School at Rome, and the American Academy in Rome.
