Matriculation is the formal act by which a student is admitted to the University of Aldenmoor — not merely enrolled, but inducted into a tradition of learning that spans 178 years. The ceremony has taken place in the Great Hall of Pemberton College every September since 1849, with the exception of two years during the Second World War.
New students sign the University Register (a leather-bound folio maintained since 1851), and receive the Aldenmoor Oath of Academic Integrity in the original Latin. Interpretation cards are provided, though returning students are known to recite it from memory.
